Silly Stuff

My stories aren’t super serious.

They often cover dark, dangerous, and unpleasant topics, and often the characters are VERY serious about whatever they’re attempting to accomplish. But I’m not out here trying to write the next Neuromancer or whatever. My work isn’t trying to be groundbreaking or anything like that. I just like telling fun stories that people enjoy.

As a result, I sometimes put rather silly things in my work. For example, I’m writing a series of fictional advertisements for fictional companies… hmmm. I suppose the advertisements are real, just the products they’re trying to get you to buy don’t exist. Trips to exotic worlds, components for giant mecha, that sorta thing.

But because they’re not real, I get to be a little more creative in my ads. For example, I did one for a planet called “Misery” and the tag line was “Come to Misery: We love company!”

I have to write up a few more today so I have them ready next time I record an audio story that needs one. Time to be creatively silly!

Hope everyone out there is staying safe and healthy!
